Needed To See It Live To Believe It

I only saw Damo Suzuki, the former vocalist for German rock outfit Can and long-running artist who died over the weekend at age 74, perform live once. He would pop up on shows across the country, nomad-like in how you wouldn’t see his name for a while before bam, there it was gracing a lineup. Yet for whatever reason — a mix of timing and that youthful feeling of “oh, I’ll get around to that” until you no longer can — there’s only a single time I saw him perform. But I’ve never forgotten it.
